Day 93

I just shot my first commissioned photo shoot! WOO-HOO!! I had SO much fun and am really excited about the results. Thank you so much M&K for giving me this opportunity and allowing me to photograph your beautiful new baby girl.
I have spent hours learning a new program just so I could ensure I had the colouring just right. The colours were gorgeous until...I uploaded them into blogger! Has anyone else been having this problem with blogger washing your pictures out? Until I get this issue resolved, here are the watered down versions of my favorite pictures.

Day 88

Self Portrait II

Day 87

ABSOLUTE toughest assignment to date: Self Portrait
I came up with all these great ideas and tried to shoot them, but in the end I decided they would look better with someone else, so I stuck to what was semi flattering.

Day 86

Assignment: Self Portrait Without Me In It.
(I didn't stage this, this what my dresser looks like, there are so many other ways I wanted to show "me" but one would involve a trip to Montana)

Day 85

Assignment: Convey a feeling or mood through a photograph.

Day 80- Are We Done Yet?

I have been horrible at staying with 100 photos in 100 days. I was doing so good for so long and now I am obviously WAY off track. But here is a small attempt to get back on track.

Day 79- One Girl Revolution

I have been searching months for a place like this to take pictures, I just happened upon this spot when parking for a Mariners game. I took over 300 pictures and narrowed my favorites down to these. I know it is a LOT of pictures but I figure in reality this site is for me and there is no need to be decisive.
I made Sarah's shirt and tutu and honestly I gave up on trying to get her to do what I wanted her to do for the photos and just let her be. I had much better success just following her around and snapping as she played. The pictures of her with her head in her lap is mostly her trying to avoid the camera. We were also at this site while some artists were in progress. It was fun watching them work and they let me snap some photos of them too. Maybe I'll post them another time.

Day 78

E.T. Baby and the Dali Lama
I laughed so hard when I saw this picture, I couldn't help but see a baby E.T. But, much cuter of course.

Day 77

Baby Sleeping
I snapped this picture of Leah sleeping, using the natural light of her window. It cracks me up how PINK she is!

This picture reminds me of social gatherings where you have little groups of people together talking.

Day 70

Daddy Daughter Ball
Sarah was in HEAVEN tonight! She got to be a princess for a night with her daddy at the Daddy Daughter Ball. Sherm said she was coming up with all sorts of dance moves on the dance floor. When she found out she would be attending a "Royal Ball" she asked her dad what they would be taking to get there. Sherm told her the "Enchanted Subaru." It wasn't quite the horse drawn magic pumpkin she had in mind.
I took these pictures with natural light. I placed my grass chest in the open doorway and Sherm held my brown blanket behind her for a backdrop. The middle picture is a prime example of why I need a portrait (telephoto) lens. I need the compression to even her out so her feet are not proportionally big.

Day 69

Save Water, Shower With a Friend

So I am not posting this because I think it is a great shot, but it really made me laugh so I had to capture it. Besides, I am way behind and this is still a pic right? Anyhow, Sarah loves to get in the shower after me and shower with all her friends until I kick her out. This morning I went to get into the shower and was startled that I was about to interupt a picnic in progress. Honestly, I am not sure who was more startled me or the bath toy friends.

Day 65

Rahne Boots
1/500sec. f5.6 ISO 100 Manual Mode
I seriously went back and reshot this picture today. This time I turned the boots the other direction to eliminate the houses, changed my ISO from 1600 to 100 (for less of a grainy shot) and layered it in Photoshop to do colour and b&w (Don't look too closely or you'll see how I rushed it).
